View of Mt.Foraker 17,400ft from W. Buttress of Denali. The 14,000ft camp on Denali is lower left in picture. On warm summer days when there is big high pressure north of the Alaska Range it pushes warm air up & over the mountains. As the air rises over tundra it forms a band of low to mid altitude clouds that tend to dissipate as they move down from range.
